“How do I share my message and book in an authentic way that honors the Lord?”
This was the question I asked my college son one evening as we discussed the discomfort of promoting my book. He asked, “Mama, why did you spend the last three years writing it and what do you hope to offer?” I began sharing my heartbreak for the many reasons and ways we suffer in this world and the agony of thinking and feeling that the Lord is against us. I recalled the misery of grieving without God’s comfort and the wonder, healing and goodness of grieving with Him. I shared about how pursuing God even in my rage, ushered me into His presence to encounter His peace, power and consuming love. I shared the longing I have to be a voice of comfort and hope in this dark, difficult world. As we connected, John said “Mama, you need to share what you just said to me.” We decided to make a humble little podcast- totally unscripted, between mother and son. I hope and pray our time of connecting communicates my heart for those who suffer and the reason for writing, publishing and promoting, On Sacred Ground : Encountering the Great I AM in the Midst of Suffering.
